The Petts Wood and District Residents Association is a hugely pro-active group of volunteers working on your behalf to maintain the area as an attractive place to live, and a vibrant town for business.

Benefits offered to members:

  • Receiving the printed Gazette, monthly to your front door, with key information on events within Petts Wood 

  • The printed Gazette includes the latest news and views on planning, public policy and community issues

  • Receiving the Gazettes helps to create a community spirit within Petts Wood. There are circa 2700 householders receiving the printed Gazette monthly.

  • The monthly updates on planning applications within Petts Woods have the potential to change the face of where we live, and so we consider this to be a key area of our work.

  • Monthly updates across a range of portfolios are covered with the Gazette. Overview available here  

  • Annual Membership allows for your vote in the Annual General Meeting

The annual membership fee for 12 months is currently £5, with the period running from roughly July- June. 

​

What Your Membership Helps Support

.

  • Consistent direct liaison with the Council and its members, as well as our Member of Parliament, on matters of concern.

  • Contributing toward and helping support local events including Petts Wood Calling, the Petts Wood Christmas Carnival and the Petts Wood May Fayre.

  • Strong representation at meetings held in connection with Biggin Hill airport, as flight paths pass directly over our district.

  • Representation via an advisory role of the PWDRA Committee with the Petts Woods and Hawkswood National Trust Committee since 1950. Hence can play an active part in the maintenance of this important area of green space.

  • Actively monitoring environmental matters, working with the Council as appropriate, to ensure our area remains a clean and healthy place to live.

 

The Association also maintains a Notice Board by the station to enable non-profit-making organisations in the area to promote their activities.
