Peak hour trains
From 15th May 2022 there will be some train timetable changes. The peak hour service to and from Blackfriars (via Catford) is being reintroduced by Thameslink. Up morning trains will depart at roughly 30 minutes intervals from Petts Wood in the morning from 06:06 and until 09:06 and in the afternoon from 15:36 until 18:36 (but no train at 17:06). Down services are similar with 6 morning and 6 afternoon /evening arrivals at Petts Wood. This service has limited local value as far as Elephant & Castle only. Unless you want a leisurely journey around south London it is quicker to travel to Blackfriars (and beyond) via London Bridge and connect there with Thameslink trains. This route has the added advantage that trains operate daily throughout the day.
Journey planners have been updated and timetables will be published by Thameslink on 29th April.
By contrast, current local Southeastern train times will remain virtually unchanged from 15th May apart from minor timing adjustments to a few services. Timetables are already available from the train operator’s website.
