No trains to London Termini on 4 consecutive weekends in August and September
For four consecutive weekends in August and September there will be no direct trains between Petts Wood and Charing Cross, Waterloo East, Cannon Street and London Bridge. The dates concerned are Sat 13/Sun 14, Sat 20/Sun 21, Sat 27/Sun 28/Mon 29 (public holiday) and Sat 3/Sun 4 Sep. The line closure is required to allow extensive track replacement at New Cross.
Trains that normally run between Petts Wood and Charing Cross will be diverted from Lewisham non-stop to Victoria and vice versa. Travel time between Petts Wood and Victoria via Lewisham will be 38 minutes about the same as the normal route via Herne Hill.
Orpington and Cannon Street services will not run on any of these dates.
Trains that normally run between Orpington and Victoria will still run, though some timings will be different.
On Sat 13, Sat 20, Mon 29 Aug and Sat 3 Sep there will be trains to Cannon Street and London Bridge via Greenwich.
Journey Planners are being updated accordingly.
Valid tickets will be accepted on TfL services by reasonable routes to affected destinations. Please note that DLR and Northern Line platforms at Bank will be closed on Sat 20 / Sun 21 August
ALTERNATIVE JOURNEY POSSIBILITIES DURING THIS DISRUPTION
To reach Embankment (for Charing Cross) and Cannon Street there are Circle/District line trains from Victoria.
For Waterloo East and London Bridge take the Circle/District Line from Victoria to Westminster then Jubilee Line.
You can also take the DLR from Lewisham to Greenwich on Sat 13, Sat 20, Mon 29 Aug, and Sat 3 Sep. to make connections with trains there to London Bridge and Cannon Street.
For the City you can take the DLR to Bank from Lewisham, but there are no services on Sat 20/Sun21 August.
From Petts Wood it is also possible to get to and from Blackfriars and Elephant & Castle by changing at Bromley South on to Thameslink trains. At Elephant & Castle there are tube connections to London Bridge (Northern line), also Waterloo and Charing Cross (Bakerloo line).
Allow extra time to complete your journey if you need to travel on these dates.
