PALS (Petts Woodians Against Litter) our monthly litter picking group in Petts Wood is a great success. We meet at 10am on the last Sunday in the month at Station Square outside JDM estate agents. Usually there are about twenty of us and New 'litter pickers' are always welcome. Just come along! It's very heartening to see people of all ages getting involved with bags and pickers (provided) in the town centre. Families come with small children and you can see the look of satisfaction and glee after an hour or so at the amount we collect. On average we fill about thirty sacks of rubbish which is collected by Bromley Council the next day for recycling. The usual suspects: drink cans, cartons, bottles, coffee cups, food wappers & boxes. But there are unusual items too: video player, lost handbag (reported and reunited with owner), Freedom pass, two abandoned Santander hire bikes, train seat, supermarket trolleys (various)! Alert for our May litter pick!

This month we won’t be having the litter pick on Sunday 28th but are moving it as a one off to Tuesday 30 May at 4pm in West Approach off Queensway. (Near the back of Morrisons). This is to combine with Bromley Council’s Street Friends group who will be having a litter pick on that day. If you would like to join us please do so, you will be very welcome and litter sticks, hoops and sacks will be provided. We will be reverting back to the last Sunday of the month in June (this will be Sunday 25th) meeting as usual at 10am outside JDM in Station Square.
